Insulation and PTR requirements for water heater pipework

AS/NZS 3500.4:2021 clauses 8.2.1 and 8.22 requires insulation for all inlet and outlet pipework. Clause 5.11 requires PTR valve to be fitted with drain line with continous fall.

AS/NZS 3500.4:2021 clause 5.11.1 specifies that every PTR valve shall be fitted with a
drain line.

AS/NZS 3500.4:2021 clause 5.11.3 specifies that: (b) each line shall fall continuously from
the valve to the point of discharge, and (d) the point of discharge from each drain line shall
be located so that the release of steam or hot water does not cause a nuisance, is readily
discernible and incurs no risk of damage to the building or injury to persons.
