SRES installer and designer accreditation scheme update

Since we announced Solar Accreditation Australia (SAA) as the new accreditation scheme operator in February more than 55% of all accredited persons have applied to transfer.

Over 4,000 transfer applications have been received in a very short time. Thank you for your patience as SAA works to process applications as quickly as possible.

Accredited installers and designers must transfer accreditation to SAA by 29 May 2024 to remain eligible for small-scale technology certificates (STCs). Please read the following important information to help you transfer quickly and easily.

Plan your transfer and renewal

  • Transfer and renewal applications can take up to 10 business days to process.
  • SAA will prioritise ‘soon to expire’ accreditations to mitigate accreditation gaps. If your accreditation is ‘soon to expire’ you must transfer and renew your accreditation at the same time.
    • 'Soon to expire' means within 14 days of applying.
    • If you submit your application with less than 3 days to your expiry, your application is unlikely to be processed in time.
    • SAA cannot backdate accreditation dates. You are not eligible for STCs if your accreditation expires.
  • Avoid delays and ensure you have all documentation or continuous professional development (CPD) points.

Continuous professional development

  • You will need 100 CPD points to renew your accreditation with SAA.
    • If you have an accreditation period of 4 months or less, SAA will accept CPD on a pro-rata basis.
  • Access your CPD history via the My Learning History page in the CEC portal and CPD courses via the CEC LearnLAB.

More information

  • Visit the 'frequently asked questions' page on the SAA website. Many callers asking for information on how to transfer ask the same questions so you might find your answer on the FAQ page and save time.
