Reminder: daily limits for solar PV installation
Registered agents are reminded that version 13 of the Clean Energy Councils (CEC’s) guidelines for ‘Grid-Connected Solar PV Systems’ came into effect from 29 June 2019. This includes a limit to the number of installations an accredited person can sign off per day.
- For complete installations, an accredited person installing or supervising will only be able to sign off on two installations per day.
- For complete installations and upgrades/repairs, an accredited person installing or supervising can only sign off on one complete installation and no more than three upgrades/repairs per day.
- For upgrades/repairs to existing systems, an accredited person installing or supervising can only sign off on four system upgrades/repairs per day.
What this means for registered agents
The CEC guidelines outline eligibility requirements for claiming small-scale technology certificates (STCs) under the Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme (SRES). All agents and installers participating in the SRES should ensure they are familiar with the CEC guidelines. STCs that have been improperly created will be failed and subject to enforcement and/or administrative activity.
Exemption
Agents should note that exemptions to clause 6.2 of the guidelines can be obtained by installers to allow for sign off on up to 10 systems per day. Accredited installers must follow clause 6.3 to seek exceptions to clause 6.2. The exemption must be requested and confirmed before commencing work. Non-compliance
The Clean Energy Regulator takes fraud and non-compliance seriously and takes necessary action to ensure the integrity of the scheme. We closely monitor the activity of registered agents and installers to ensure compliance with the CEC installation guidelines. It is important to remember that the provision of false and misleading information is an offence under the Renewable Energy (Electricity) Act 2000.
