17/10/2017 - The Australian Government have announced their "Better Energy Future Plan" for Australia which leaves the renewables industry guessing where it leaves them. As expected the plan is very light on detail and seems to put the emphasis on meeting the future energy needs and meeting the emissions targets firmly on the energy retailers. Also on the face of the announcement seems to indicate the end of the proposed Clean Energy Target (CET) and the phasing out of the current Large Scale Renewable Energy Target (RET) by 2020 with a grandfathering period until 2030 (but no one knows how this will be set up).
